Description It?s time to learn how to "Monkey Dance" and do the "Shaky Shaky." Ever wonder how to handle a "Hot Potato" or make a "Fruit Salad?" From way "down under" comes the #1 children?s entertainment name in Australia ? THE WIGGLES! Murray, Jeff, Anthony and Greg will have children singing, laughing and grooving to funny tunes about numbers, food and favorite animal friends. Joining them in this ultra-hip, live-action video are special guests Dorothy, Wags, Henry and Captain Feathersword. Millions of Brit and Aussie kids can?t be wrong ? this fabulous foursome is the hottest musical import since John, Paul, George and Ringo! Approx. Run Time: 36 minutes
Amazon.com For the non-Australians out there, the Wiggles are a quartet of male songbirds reminiscent of the Monkees, but aimed at the Barney-watching set. The Down Under foursome sings about mashed bananas and hot potatoes, dances with the energy of fitness instructors, and makes mild attempts at being educational. (Three of the four met while studying early childhood education.) Their stab at multiculturalism results in the Jewish song "Havenu Shalom Alachem." Joining them are a big green dinosaur named Dorothy (seem familiar?), Henry the giant purple octopus, Wags the Dog, and a man in a pirate suit called Captain Feathersword. The songs are catchy, the dancing vigorous, and the outfits colorful approximations of the uniforms worn by the original crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. A couple of the haircuts look like they might have been acquired on the spaceship as well. The 15-song video runs 33minutes long and claims to be appropriate for ages 1-8, but will most likely appeal to preschoolers and kindergartners. --Kimberly Heinrichs

So-So, probably wouldn't buy again November 7, 2008 It has some of our favorite songs. But it has 2 puppet remixes where there are puppets to look like each of the Wiggles (I'd never seen this on their TV show before) and wow those songs are a bit creepy because the puppets look kinda scary, not sure what that was about.
Anyhow, would buy the CD for the songs but actually to watch this one, it's not my daughters favorite that's for sure.
FUN September 10, 2008 This is a fun video. I think there is still a little too much dialoge in it but still worth buying.
LOVE IT. A regular in our house... July 29, 2008 This was actually owned by my now 7 year old knephew who always asked for it when he was only 1 & a half till about the age of 3 when he discovered "real dinosuars", then handed down to my 1.5 year old twins by request... THEY LOVE IT! the songs are catchy, the moves are catchy, all the colors, songs and dancing keep my twin pre-tods entertained, and not just sitting staring at the TV, but up and moving along to the songs dancing and shaking, laughing and smiling. Though I can see how other parents may get annoyed or creeped out by the puppets (only on two songs), my boys are facinated by them and think the jumping crab is hillarious (which is pretty much the point, to entertain them, not me, though with my backround in Ped's Nursing and as a Teacher in a Child Development Center, Im usually up and dancing along, its just in me to be a big kid). I'm not to fond of some of the other Wiggle DVD's but this one is a regularly played one... Plus, Dad can actually tolerate this one, which is RARE, and dance with his kids(needless to say, he gets a workout too) I'm not big on "TV for young minds" but this truly is a workout video for little ones, they're not just staring into the TV with that blank look on thier face, they're up and doing gross motor, moving all the parts of thier body (age appropriate developmental skills perfect for this age!) which is also always a nice change from the everyday routines.
Ok May 31, 2008 I was a little disappointed with the quality of this DVD (not the tape quality but the Wiggles quality). It was shorter than the other ones, and not up to the standard of their other stuff. Several times the lips didn't even synch with the talking. That being said, my undiscerning 3 year old still loves it and it is a favourite DVD in our house. Worth owning if you have one of the others and want another. I would get "Wiggle Time" as a first purchase.
Not bad, but not great either. April 21, 2008 This DVD would get higher reviews if it didn't have those CREEPY puppets on it. The puppet segments are more like an acid trip. Other than that- it's cute- but I CAN'T get past the puppets. EEEK! My daughter (20 months old), however, seems to enjoy it all so I guess that's all that matters.
