Description In the outrageous tradition of SPY HARD and THE NAKED GUN, zany big-screen funnyman Leslie Nielsen brings MR. MAGOO hysterically to life in this wild and wacky comedy hit! It's a screamingly funny adventure full of laughs ... and danger! Nonstop comic chaos ensues when Mr. Magoo becomes the target of a notorious and ruthless band of international jewel thieves. A precious gem is stolen -- and the clueless Magoo sets out to get it back! Bursting with high-flying laughs and adrenaline-pumping action, MR. MAGOO is the entertaining comedy that has everyone howling!
Amazon.com Someone got the rather inspired (but ultimately misguided) idea to match Hong Kong action director Stanley Tong with comedy stalwart Leslie Nielsen in this dimwitted live-action Disney version of the vintage cartoon, in which the very nearsighted tycoon bumbles his way into the heist of a giant, priceless ruby known as the Star of Kuristan. The result is an abundance of slapstick humor related to Mr. Magoo's visual impairment (prompting a brief protest during the film's 1997 release by the National Federation of the Blind), and a tired plot involving a lovely jewel thief (Kelly Lynch) who'll stop at nothing to get her stolen jewel back. Of course, Magoo manages to foil the thieves at every turn, even though he's frequently unaware of his unintentional heroics. This standard family fare from Disney (best suited for kids 12 and under) will probably play better on home video, but you'll have to watch and listen closely for the few gags that really pay off. --Jeff Shannon

It Could Be Entertaining. It Is Better The Second Time. May 13, 2008 It is one of those movies to watch when you have a Short-Attention-Span day. Don't analyze, just enjoy the occasional silly joke. And do not worry if you miss any part of the movie. You get used to it, it seems better the 2nd time.

This is the worst Disney movie, I have ever seen Leslie Neilson star in. He must have been very hard up for money to take this role.
If you get the chance to spend your dollars on this . Please just throw the money in the trashcan.
Magoo On DVD July 17, 2007 I loved this Magoo series when I was a little boy and it aired in prime time on NBC Saturday nights. I only wish the series now was available on dvd so my young family could easily enjoy them and develop an appreciation for the classics. Please bring the entire series back on DVD. I am especially interested in Magoos TREASURE ISLAND, NOAHS ARK,CAPT KIDD, MOBY DICK, and ROBIN HOOD. The Don Quixote version is wonderful because it introduces young children to the characters and basic plot of this timeless masterpiece.Magoo is a star. What more dare I say!!!!
GREAT CONDITION AND FAST July 5, 2007 This item arrived way ahead of time and in great condition and it was new like it said and played purfect. I appreciate this kind of fast service
A Funny and Amusing Tale! Leslie Nielsen shines! May 1, 2007 Mr. Magoo is based on the old TV show about a VERY near-sighted man who always gets into trouble but always manages to squeeze out of it without realizing the danger he's in. Leslie Neilsen plays Mr. Quincy Magoo, an actor and museum owner. When a jewel is stolen from his museum and he's the prime suspect, Mr. Magoo and his nephew go on a wild quest to get it back, a quest that will take you from the U.S. to Brazil, and many more places. On the way, Magoo is tricked by the jewel theif, a cunning woman named Luanne LeSeur, who will stop it nothing to get the jewel back (and who also happens to kill all of her male accomplices). Along the way, Magoo will ski on an ironing board, mistakingly sandpaper a ckicken, and disguise himself as a Brazilian gangster. This film is made for kids, but adults will love it too. If you watch Mr. Magoo, get ready for action, suspense, slapstick humor, and laugh-out-loud jokes. It's a comedy the whole family will enjoy!
