5 out of 5 stars I Can Feel the Beauty From Pain   November 18, 2008
I can say Superchick is stepping their game way up. You can see their growth in God. They talked about how this album came about at their concert. They dealt with a lot of personal issues and this album talks about how God brought them out. They got away from the pop high school cds in the past and to more serious rock music. This CD is a must buy. I recommend this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Life is Such a Gift   August 22, 2008
Since we're telling our ages, I'm 54. I had never heard of Superchick until I was (oddly enough) looking at eating-disorder-related video clips on YouTube, and one or two were set to the song "Courage," which is quite understandable. I found the song on iTunes and that is where I found out more about the band and its music. I like the songs and arrangements, but I also like the messages, which are positive (except for that one song, and even that one expresses hope for getting through her ordeal) but never Hallmark-y or cloying.

I just bought this for my mom. She lost my father 3 years ago and aside from talking to her I try to send her positive, inspirational books and music. I think she'll love this CD, because she's been through it all.
(I also got a copy for myself, because I find it inspiring.)

Check out "Stand in the Rain" if you have time for only one clip.

5 out of 5 stars Great Sound -- Great Message   June 4, 2008

The older I get, the more a song has to have a message in order for me to enjoy it. Otherwise it is little more than background noise. Folks can relate to the songs on the CD, especially girls. And it rocks too!!!! I found the review from the 52 year old reviewer interesting. I'm a 47 year old man and I dig Superchick. I'm guessing we are not Superchick's primary target market, but hey, music knows no age boundaries.

5 out of 5 stars superchicksupergood!   May 28, 2008

I started listening to K-LOVE radio recently and heard the song "Pure." I had never heard of superchick before but had to buy their CD. I love it - every song! And BONUS for me...one song is about getting rid of a guy that's no good for you - that really helped me move forward emotionally.

Several songs provide strength and encouragement if you are in the midst of overcoming challenges and feel like giving up. Perhaps the songs were written regarding breakups or everyday challenges, I'm not sure, but I believe that these lyrics can truly help people who are grieving from the loss of a loved one. I talk to a lot of people about death, and I am going to suggest that they buy this CD and play it over and over.

This is a CD for everybody, regardless of age. (I am 52.) Some of its messages include laying down the burden, our days are gifts, stand your ground, grab the moment before it's gone, and do what we're meant to do. It's a very uplifting CD that says "It's a new day, baby!"

5 out of 5 stars Good Stuff   May 7, 2008

The thing about Christian rock bands is that, like Canadian radio play bands, about one in a hundred (or so) is really pretty good. This is that one is in a hundred (or so).
