His second Gospel release, Witness Protection, displays the soulful, soaring voice that has been earning him die-hard fans since 1994. This album shows a much lighter side of Dave that combines an up-tempo R&B sound with a strong gospel message.The ultimate Preacher's Kid (both his parents are preachers), Dave Hollister initially got his break in music as an original member of the platinum-selling R&B group Blackstreet, founded by producer Teddy Riley. Dave left Blackstreet after the release of their first album and went on to pursue a solo career as a singer, songwriter and producer. His solo debut, Ghetto Hymns, was released in 1999 to critical acclaim, as was his sophomore release the following year - Chicago '85... The Movie. After releasing two more albums, Dave returned to his church roots, signing with GospoCentric.

I just wanna say that I am very touched by the lyrical content and arrangement of this cd... I've listened to ALOT of the old DH, but this was at the top... Keep spreading His word...

I'm such a big fan of Dave. I'm sooo glad he decided to join the Christian race. He has been a great asset to contemporary gospel and like the last album it's a hit. Your're crazy not to get this album. I love his voice, his words, and his ministry. Keep doing what your doing Dave!

This CD is even better than the last. Dave Hollister should remain with gospel and not return to R&B. Keep it up Dave!!

This CD has really been a blessing. It talks about a lot of things that a lot of us feel inside.
Be ready for worship September 1, 2008
I've always liked Dave's soulful voice, and I'm glad to see him doing contemporary gospel. This CD took me right into a mode of worship. From upbeat and catchy songs like Strivin' to the powerful Calm Da Seas and I'm Here, Dave gets this one right. The lyrics are genuine. I think you'll love this newest endeavor from Dave.
