3 out of 5 stars The sophmore slump strikes but fans will find some rewarding moments in season two of "Heroes"   August 21, 2008
The second season of "Heroes" stumbled with its story arc involving Hiro traveling back in time to feudal Japan. There were also the introduction of new characters many of which just didn't work. Unfortunately, Claire's story arc gets sidelined as she attempts to return to a normal life and become a cheerleader again. The show recovers somewhat by midset unfortunately the show was interrrupted by the Writer's Guild strike.

The show looks extremely good in its DVD presentation. The extras are quite good as well which does make up for the diminished quality of the show. We get 11 commentary tracks. I haven't had time to listen to more than one or two of them but they are pretty good. If I'm not mistaken these are the audio versions of the video commentaries that were available on the "Heroes" website.

A couple of the featurettes included here were also on the webiste. The most effective and interesting ones here are the preview of season three (which has some minor spoilers so you may want to wait to watch it if you want to be totally surprised)and a featurette that allows us to see how a series of scenes wer constructed.

"Heroes" still has tremendous potential and here's hoping that the third season "Villians" is an improvement over the second season. This is a good set but isn't as strong or as good as the first season of "Heroes".

5 out of 5 stars A real review!   August 21, 2008
Ok everyone, I know that this has been getting alot of bad reviews. But you have to understand that this was only supposed to be the beginning of season 2, but it got cut wayyy short because of the writers strike. I promise that the pilot of season 3 is kick a**... Cause i saw it at comic-con. So don't give up hope on this show! And buy season 2. Cause it is in my opinion a great season.

2 out of 5 stars Roll on Season 3...   August 20, 2008
Season 1 was brilliant: fresh, inspired, not afraid to take risks. Season 2? Rather insipid, I'm afraid. Peter's love interest, the whole Shanti virus... it's really not very good. It should be called Season 1.5, bring on the REAL Season 2!

1 out of 5 stars Season 2 was a huge disappointment   August 20, 2008
The whole Hiro in the past was tedious and the resolution of the Shanti virus was completely underwhelming. Plus, that kid with the power to take apart electronic stuff is annoying and useless. This was probably due to the lack of funding, but this show always failed to deliver a truly climactic superhero battle. After the Watchmen-like awesomeness of Season 1, the second season really killed it for me. Slap anyone who compares Season 2 Heroes with anything from Lost.

5 out of 5 stars Come on, its not that bad   August 18, 2008

yes, its a short season but it still displays the creativity we saw in Season 1. We get introduced to some new characters and some different aspects of the old ones. This is obviously by no means a perfect season but its still good for the show, the overall story of Heroes and the writers strike it aired in. If you love Heroes you will love this. Plus, Season 3 looks to be extremely promising.
