Good movie September 24, 2008 It's a good movie and definitely a great story. Anytime folks stand up to evil and prevail, it deserves an applaud. This is a true story of terrorist kidnapping of a passenger airliner and holding them hostage trying to get them exchanged for release of imprisoned terrorists. The Israeli special forces go to work and pull off a stunning rescue with minimal casualties on their side. It only briefly mentions the aftermath in closing credits, but I think it deserves greater attention. Specifically the killing of the innocent hostage who was transported into a Ugandan hospital prior to the rescue as well as firing of the Air France pilot/captain who stayed behind with his passengers. In today's world, these are issue that need more attention.
There are some great actors in this movie. I was already quite familiar with the story line and the outcome before watching this movie so for me the suspense wasn't there. However, it was still very enjoyable and I'd recommend this movie to others.
A Classis August 9, 2008 This film is a classic and the most accurate telling of this thrilling rescue. The cast is terrific. While you know how it ends the docudrama style maintains its suspense. A MUST for the serious movie buff.
Raid On Entebbe July 9, 2008 This is a terrific movie with a terrific cast. After an airliner with Israeli citizens was hijacked and all the jewish people were separated from the other passengers by the terrorists the Israeli government went to work to rescue them. It showed the toughness of the Israeli's and how they would stop at nothing to save their citizens. It's a wonderful true story of one terrorist defeat!! God bless them!!
Not as good as the book 90 mnts at entebbe May 11, 2008 The movie was not as good as the book "90 mnts at Entebbe". The picture quality was very ordinary. Looked like a low budget film. Was a bit disappointing.
Just horrible sub-bootleg quality of a great movie April 19, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was supposed to be a Televista re-release of one of the best TV movies of all time, Raid On Entebbe. They wanted twenty bux, but I took a chance. Amazon didn't ship me what they had listed, but some junk product by "Wham! USA". It was region-free, which is usually a bad omen portending a trash-quality Chinese bootleg that looks like it was filmed with a handheld, dirty-lens, cheap camcorder. It lived up to that terrifying description.
I watched about 30 ghastly seconds of this shabby disc (which also came with a lot of small scratches and a few pits here and there) and then logged on to request an RMA and print a return label. Don't touch this "Wham! USA" garbage with a 10-foot pole.
