Amazon.com Emmy and her little brother Max learn the basic lessons of young childhood with the help of their dragon buddies in this PBS series. Whenever earthly life gets a little overwhelming or puzzling, the pair chant their way to a make-believe land where the wise elder Quetzal and some young flying lizards help them solve problems. Although two of the five titles use adult word play ("Much Ado About Nodlings," "The Fury Is Out on This One"), the humor and storytelling are strictly for the kids. Cooperation, understanding the consequences of one's actions, sibling compromise, and anger-management lessons for tots are at the top of the agenda. Puppet shows, magical creatures, and Zak and Wheezie (the two-headed brother-sister dragon) help teach the lessons. The advantage of the DVD format is that each 12-minute segment can be viewed independently, without the kids getting tempted by the next episode. The disadvantage: Until the little ones get the hang of the remote controls, you have to be there every 12 minutes to start the next episode. DVD features include three 90-second sing-alongs designed to get the kids up and dancing. (Ages 3 to 7) --Kimberly Heinrichs

Dragon Tales - Lets Share Lets Play April 10, 2007 My son loves this DVD and I think it has good lessons for the children.
Good, but no continuous play June 28, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I wish I had read the previous reviews before buying! My daughter loves this DVD, especially the Three Little Pigs episode. However, it does not play continuously. We play DVDs in our van on car trips and it is annoying that it goes back to the menu after each episode. That is the only reason I dislike it.
Great Picks August 25, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My kids love this DVD, the only complaint I have is that the 5 different stories don't play continuously, we have to play each one separately
Love it August 10, 2001 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is great. I only wish that it would continue to play all 5 episodes. Unlike the 1st dragontales DVD, after an episode plays, it goes back to the menu instead of playing all 5 continuously.
