Description Get ready for lots of laughs with your favorite prehistoric pals and their new friends in their funniest journey ever! Featuring memorable new songs and the hilarious voice talents of Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and Golden Globe winner Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy), it's an adventure filled with dino-riffic fun and heartwarming friendship! Littlefoot, Cera, Spike, Petrie and Ducky are excited to meet two goofy and lovable yellow-bellied Beipiaosauruses, Loofah and Doofah, who have lost their way while traveling to the distant Berry Valley. Loofah and Doofah seem to be too clumsy to find the way back, so Littlefoot and the others decide to help their new friends while sharing important life lessons called Wisdoms along the way. By the time they reach Berry Valley, Littlefoot realizes that even though the Yellow Bellies don't follow his Wisdoms very well, their silly techniques work just fine.
Amazon.com Every species passes down certain guiding wisdoms from one generation to another in hopes of preserving, prolonging, and bettering the lives of their offspring. While Little Foot and his dinosaur friends Petrie, Cera, Spike, and Ducky are only young dinosaurs, their elders have taught them that they must always stay with the group, be home before dark, and keep their eyes and ears open. When three strange yellow belly dinosaurs show up in the valley, it is quickly apparent that they are hopelessly ignorant of the wisdoms Little Foot and his friends hold true and it seems their quest to find Berry Valley and join the rest of their herd is destined to failure without the aid of Little Foot and his friends. Striking off toward new lands, Little Foot and the gang save their new friends Doofah, Loofah, and Foobie from certain death at the hands of the sharp teeth several times, but eventually the young friends realize that although the yellow bellies may not heed the wisdoms they're familiar with, the yellow bellies have some instinctual habits of their own that safeguard them very well. Lots of catchy music permeates this fun, animated, 76-minute adventure and the wholesome message about heeding the lessons of parents, grandparents, and other elders comes through clearly without seeming didactic. Bonus features include the television episode "The Hidden Canyon" in which Little Foot's and his friends' failure to tell the other dinosaurs about a secret place full of tree sweets endangers the entire herd's existence, two interactive DVD games, and two sing-along songs. (Ages 5 to 11) --Tami Horiuchi

must have September 16, 2008 Who doesn't like Little Foot. All kids need to be brought up on this series, it never gets old.
Poorly thought out and pointless May 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter and I picked this up and watched it last night. Ugh. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and sorely regret buying it for my daughter. The movie purports to be about little foot learning the "wisdoms" from his grandparents and then going on an adventure applying them, but instead it winds up mocking the idea of listening and thinking about what you're doing. The comedic yellow-bellied dinos wind up providing a sort of praise for stupidity and debasement of the wisdoms. It encourages children to ignore lessons of their parents and just do whatever feels good to them at the time.
To summarize the lessons this movie teaches: Kids, it's okay not to listen to your parents. Feel free to wander off with any strange kids you meet in the neighborhood. If you've been told not to do something, but it feels right at the moment, go ahead and do it anyway. Parents don't know that much anyway.
  Always a hit March 26, 2008
The Land Before Time movies have always been a big hit with us. The stories have a message about caring for each other, being kind, accepting the differences of othere, etc. These messages are unobtrusive and neatly woven into the stories. Little Foot, Spike, Ducky, and Chomper are extremely likable and entertaining. The Wisdom of Friends didn't disappoint us even after seeing many other Land Before Time movies. While these are obviously made for younger children, they are excellent for all ages. I recommend this movie for anyone who likes sweet, g-rated stories.
The best one of the series (besides the original) March 10, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have seen all of the Land Before Time movies and I must admit that this is one of the better ones. Exellent message and good adventure. There are some genuine laugh out loud moments even for adults. It reminded me a lot of the original movie. A must see.
Land Before Time Continues to Delight Children (and Adults) January 28, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This latest in the Land Before Time series continues to delight children. As an adult, I'm also entertained. Each new video introduces a new character. Not only do the children enjoy the video, but the music is good. They often replay a favorite scene just to hear a song.
