Product Description Mickey Mouse and his friends battle Walt Disney movie villains when they take over his House of Mouse. Genre: Children's Video Rating: NR Release Date: 26-AUG-2003 Media Type: DVD
Amazon.com If you think a gaggle of big-screen goons like Cruella, Jafar, and Captain Hook can muscle Mickey off Disney's House of Mouse stage, guess again. Here, the leader of the pack proves he's made of more than Swiss cheese in a Halloween battle to bounce the bad guys--banded together for the first time--from the belly-laugh-generating hot spot where he pulls host duties. Best of all, the classic-character misadventures keep rolling amid the maelstrom: Donald gets the short end of the broom when a busybody witch blows in, Goofy bungles a once-in-an-afterlife time shot at being a ghost, etc. By the time the mouse houselights go up, the evil cadre's out on its cartoon ear with only a song--the showstopping "It's Our House Now!"--to its credit. The hospitality's not so hot, but the frantic, feature-length dice of shorts and devious doings will find Disney devotees dancing in the aisles. --Tammy La Gorce

Great Halloween Cartoons! September 12, 2008 I think this is a great Halloween DVD. I bought this for my daughter when she was 4 years old (she is now 10)and she has always loved it. I now have a 2 year old and she loves it as well. We watch it every October all month long along with our other Halloween movies, but this is one of my daughters favorites.
A Must-Have For Your Halloween Collection! May 26, 2008 This is a wonderful collection of disney cartoons (some halloween related, some not). It pulls some of the clips from the original "Disney's Halloween Treat", such as the Donald Duck clip with the escaped ape on the stormy night and the Mickey, Donald, and Goofy "Ghost Exterminators" clip. It is a delightful Halloween treat where new and old disney characters gather on Halloween night at the House of Mouse for the sharing of Spooky cartoon clips. Little do they know some of the "villians" have a trick instead of a treat in mind for Mickey and the gang!

BORING!!!! July 12, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
If I had known that "House of Mouse" was such a boring cartoon serie I would never have gotten this DVD, however, I didn't have Disney Channel and thought this was a short movie special with the villains. *headdesk* WHY????
Basically, Mickey owns some kind of TV show... or whatever, he's on stage, doing a few jokes, shows some old Disney Characters and then plays a boring (new stuff) little movie. Here the villains supposedly take over the "House of Mouse" and... watch cartoons! Halloween ones. Now I don't know about US, but where I live, these old short movies was aired ALL THE TIME during 80-90s. Basically, any old episode on this movie - I had seen thousand times before!! I was bored out of my mind, and nothing happens with the villains as far as I can remember, they just take a little, a cartoon, talk, cartoon blah blah, then Mickey takes the "house of mouse" back.
This is such a dissapointment!
"It's Our House Now!" January 20, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
"Mickey's House of Villains" is a Halloween special weaving together a number of stories in a fun plot about what would happen if the Disney villains tried to take over the House of Mouse.
Though this is a fairly recent special, many of the stories seem to be in the classic Disney tradition. The fun starts out with "Trick Or Treat," in which Donald's nephews Huey, Duey and Louie meet up with a witch (and her broom named Beezlebub) who delights in helping them to play a trick on Donald Duck. Donald is being stingy with his candy and only seems to want to play tricks on the nephews. So the witch, Hazel (get it --- witch hazel!) casts spells on him, but he doesn't go down quite as easy as she'd hoped.
Other shorts include "Mickey's Mechanical House" (a Seuss inspired Mickey Mouse tale), "How To Haunt a House" (wonderful comedy), "Lonesome Ghosts," "Dance of the Goofys," "Donald Duck and the Gorilla," "Donald's Halloween Scare" and "Hansel & Gretel." Some of these are all-comedy, some are only part comedy and some are only music and no words. It's a nice throwback to the old-style music-only Disney productions. In-between the segments, the villains get together to put their master plan into action, which eventually culminates in the show-stopping number "It's Our House Now!" Mickey and the others are kicked out --- how will they retake the house?
"Mickey's House of Villains" comes with bonus features as well. The "Reel of Misfortune Game" tests your knowledge of Disney villains. Most of the questions are fairly easy, due to the obvious incorrect answer choices, but there is an occasional stumper. Also included is "Fright Delight," featuring scenes from various Disney movies and their spooky sounds. DVD-ROM weblinks are there as well. Finally, you get trailers for other Disney films that were releasing around the time that this was put out, such as "Lilo & Stitch," "Beauty and the Beast: Special Edition DVD" and "Monsters Inc."
