A winning combination on all counts. June 20, 2007
When the late Marvin Santiago left Bobby Valentin's orchestra to pursue a solo career Cano Estremera was the logical (and best) successor. Estremera's raw, muscular and powerful soneos (improvisations) complimented Valentin's band perfectly. This CD's high points are "Suicida", "Awilda" and the big hit "Porque Me Citas"--all of which kept the Valentin/Estremera combination at the forefront of the Salsa world despite Cumbia and Merengue's chart domination at the time.
