5 out of 5 stars Colombian music I love it!!!   December 21, 2008
Everything about amazon shopping has made me happy, fast shipping before the planned, excelents products, low rate for shipping, perfect conditions for a reasonable price, and very very secure purchase. About cd's this guy fonseca is a colombian singer with excelent tropical fusion colombian music, with differents rythms and instruments that make move and dance, I love it as Juanes, Carlos Vives,

5 out of 5 stars He was the biggest act in Colombia of 2006   October 12, 2007
I love colombian music. From their rock/pop artists like Juanes and Shakira to their vallenato artists like Silvestre Dangond, Kaleth Morales and Jorge Celedon.

Fonseca fits in between both worlds. In fact I would call him Carlos Vives lite. That's not meant to be offensive. Far from it. Fonseca basically reminds me of a more reserved Vives probably because the rhythms on Fonseca's album are much slower and quieter than the rapid and loud stuff you tend to get on the Vives albums.

Anyway, if you like Vives you'll like Fonseca. Basically this guy was the biggest artist in Colombia last year. Spend months at number 1, went platinum at least 8 times over (at last count), and he still gets played everywhere.

The big tracks were Te Mando Flores, Como Me Mira, and Hace Tiempo. I also really liked Mercedes and the absolutely sublime La Casa. Big downer on the album was Idilio (the remake of the famous Willie Colon salsa track), it just doesn't work especially since the original is such a classic (one of the great salsa tracks, if you haven't heard it you must). In saying that the song is getting alot of airplay in Colombia this year so you may like it.

Highly recommended album.

5 out of 5 stars Ritmo y letras caribenas   July 7, 2007

5 out of 5 stars Colombians rock!   April 23, 2007
There's something in the water in Colombia! Or maybe its just that los colombianos are genetically predisposed to make good music. Whether it be the rock music of Juanes or the hip shaking pop of Shakira (not to mention Carlos Vives and Cabas) the Colombians know how to make good music.

Now we can add another artist to that list...Fonseca! I stumbled across this cd while looking for some other items and I'm glad I did. After listening to the sample clips of some of the songs I decided to buy the cd. My favorites are tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 10. Track 6 (Lagartija Azul) which is my personal favorite---I can't help wanting to get up and dance when I hear it. Actually, all of the songs are good and its a nice cd to pop in the player and just hit play. The cd also includes a video of the single "Te mando flores".

If you enjoy latin music, this is a really good cd and deserves to be heard. Recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Just Wonderful   March 26, 2007
The first song I heard from this CD was "Te Mando Flores"(I send you Flowers) but it became NOTHING when I heard "Hace Tiempo"(A long time ago). This last song is just one of the 5 songs I couldn't live with.
I think Fonseca is full of talent. He's a great singer...
