5 out of 5 stars yoga journal and lamaze presents: yoga for your pregnancy   August 21, 2008

i really have enjoyed this dvd. i am 19 weeks along and it has really helped my back pain (an injury i had years ago). This is my second child, with my first i didn't do yoga and usually just do pilates, but i decided to try it. like other reviewers have said, kristen is very informative through all the different moves. for all of those who thought it was too basic for experienced practioners, it says at the beginning of the dvd that if you're new to yoga, its a good dvd, if you've been practicing previously, you should be able to keep up your routine with some modifications. being new to yoga, its been great, i hope the birthing room yoga helps (i had horrible back labor with my first one).

5 out of 5 stars First time for yoga   August 13, 2008
I love this video. With that being said, I think I should point out that I have never done yoga before this video, so I may not have the credibility that other people may have. I feel like I get a good stretch during the video and feel relaxed after the video is done.

5 out of 5 stars Great prenatal yoga for all women!   August 4, 2008
Just bought the DVD and loved it! I have never done yoga so the poses were easy to learn and easy for a pregnant woman's body to do. I was doing it until the day I delivered. The instructor has a pleasant voice which really helps you to relax. Some of the poses are really good to help digestion, especially in the later months when your stomach is really cramped! I don't know if this is a good video if you're an experienced yoga practitioner but definitely great for beginners!!!

5 out of 5 stars 1st time for yoga   July 14, 2008
I like this prenatal dvd because it has a 30 minute energizing segment, a 15 minute relaxation segment, and other meditation and breathing segments that you can choose from. If you don't have a full hour to commit to yoga, it's easy to at least get in 30 minutes or 15 if you're really cramped for time, but want to feel that you've at least given a little time for you and and your baby.

I also like the guided meditation segment to practice focusing inward.

I have never studied yoga, and decided to do so for my 1st pregnancy because I hear that the exercise is very beneficial, and it really does just make you feel good when you're done.

It wasn't hard to get into the poses, and I'm 6 months pregnant. She also has assistants to show different levels of poses to go deeper if you're a more experienced yogini.

I like it overall, and use it frequently. I just bought "zenmama", and although haven't yet followed its' program, I watched it and it is very different. It runs through at least a 45 minute yoga practice. I will save "Zenmama" for day I want to dedicate a longer amount of time.

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorite yoga DVDs (even when not pregnant!)   June 13, 2008
The video has multiple practices, which makes it a wonderful value for your money--there is an energizing practice, a relaxing practice, a postpartum practice and then quick practices of meditation for pregnancy, pranayama for pregnancy, and birthing room yoga. I adore the birthing room yoga segment. It is only five minutes long and is perfect to use in birth classes. I bought this video specifically for ideas to use in birth classes--which is fulfilled perfectly with that great little segment--but was pleasantly surprised that I LOVE doing each of the practices as my own morning yoga routine. I'm not pregnant and find the practices really, really good even for not-pregnant people. They have a great balance of some challenge along with restorative, gentleness (they have modifications for people further along in pregnancy). The postpartum practice is really quite a workout, which was a surprise to me. Anyway, I really enjoy this video!
