A grand adventure. October 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The third and final Pirates of the Caribbean is a rollicking voyage in the same spirit of the two earlier Pirates films, yet far darker in spots (and nearly three hours to boot). The acting is great. Special praise goes to Geoffrey Rush who made Barbossa into an interesting character. I actually found myself liking him, something I didn't think I could do after the first film. Much was made of Keith Richard's special performance and international star, Chow Yun-Fat being in the film. The special effects were as great as always along with great action scenes. Well done to director Gore Verbinski who still manages to hold the film together which is good and Hans Zimmer still delivered an outstanding soundtrack for all the right reasons.
My only concern was that it was too long. But the action, as always, is more than satisfying, held together by Depp, who, outsmarting the far-better-armed British yet again, causes a bewigged commander to muse: "Do you think he plans it all out, or just makes it up as he goes along?". The final showdown between Depp and Nighy was fantastic and delivered in many cases. However I must admit that I'm pleased that it's the last movie in the trilogy for it's welcome is beginning to ware out.
This film may have some hiccups and faults but still is a wonderful movie, don't miss the grand closure to an unforgettable adventure.
So underated. October 4, 2008 I love this third entry in the classic series, cause everything is good about it. SEE IT!
Excelente !!!!! September 20, 2008 Maybe Pirates of the Caribbean is not the best movie in the history, but it is full of action and comedy, so is a good Item to own...
one of the worst movies ever September 15, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
One of the worst movies ever. Very pretty for the eyes, but the story is HORRIBLE!!!
Pirates at their Best September 7, 2008 What a fitting ending to this trilogy! These pirates did more double-crossing than you could even imagine. Definitely a movie to hold your attention. Johnny Depp at his maddest, chasing crabs across the desert. Great fun.
