4 out of 5 stars Very pleasant concert, interviews distracting   August 14, 2006

The first time you watch, you are pleased with the overall experience. The music is a nice mix of new and old -- I was a huge fan in the 70's and kind of lost touch with Dan. Now that they are back, the new music is a pleasant jazzy sound. The second, third, etc viewing force you to hit the skip button on the interviews.

5 out of 5 stars lovin the Dan   July 15, 2006
Great DVD.
Excellent sound.
Hillarious between song clips.
The music is absolute genius.

5 out of 5 stars Lifts you up !!!!   April 29, 2006

It just makes me very happy watching this DVD. Okay, so we learn that Don and Walt are not perfect and neither are the rest of the bandmembers or the editor or the cameraman, but the whole package is just so entertaining and the music sounds so great (in surround 5.1) as a whole that it makes me swing in my chair every time I listen to it. And that for a guitarplayer who is nicknamed "the Sphinx". I also like the interviews in between songs and anyone who says otherwise just doesn't get it.
Most of the "old songs" are played with more groove then ever. especially "Black Friday" and "Green Earrings".
Again; Wathing this DVD and listening to its music just lifts me up !!

5 out of 5 stars Steely Dan - Two against Nature   March 19, 2006

I love this DVD. Supurb performance, sound and picture! Too me, as a musician myself, I also look for a good balance in sound too. this was well mixed and edited. The only negative is the chat they do interviewing various members of the band. The interviews were bad and the disc space could have been filled with more songs.

5 out of 5 stars Great live cuts and funny interviews   October 24, 2005

Seems every Steely Dan album always takes a step to the outside of the box. If you're a fan of Steely Dan classics going back to the Royal Scam days, you'll love the sound and DVD video quality. The short interlude interviews hosted by Walter Becker and Donald Fagan in between songs shows their warped sense of humor. Bear in mind these guys were known for NOT taking media/press interviews seriously. The musicianship is superb and flawless. I enjoy pulling it out and watching it about once every month or two. Others complain about the quality but I've had no problems with this DVD. Its nice to see those complex chords that Fagan plays on the piano. Good close up shots.
