Mamma Mia music November 2, 2008 I fell in love with his film, music and everything. I keep listening on my car everyday on my way to work. I also purchased the movie, waiting to see it again.
Loved the Show and Music November 2, 2008 Listened to the music and it was just ie the Movie (2008). It was missing "I Do, I Do, I Do". Shard it with the girls I watched the musical with and they enjoyed the CD as well.
Mama Mia October 30, 2008 What fun. I cannot sit still while listening to this recording. The music is toe-tapping and no matter what I do around the house, it is fun with this music in the background. The voices are not the best but to me that is what makes this performance so real. This is certainly a pick-me-up!
Fantastic October 30, 2008 I loved the movie so much I came straight home to see if CD was available. Ordered 2, one as a gift. I play it all the time I am in my car. It is like watching the movie all over again.
If Only Brosnan Didn't Sing October 25, 2008 More than seven years after it opened on Broadway, the recent tidal wave of stage-to-screen musical adaptations finally launched the film version of the hugely popular "Mamma Mia!".
The largely enjoyable movie, starring Meryl Streep, brings the fun of ABBA's musical to the big screen. While a few songs from the stage version are dropped, the best songs, sung by the actors themselves, were included in the film. All do an admirable job, with the exception of Pierce Brosnan - who, while a good actor & easy on the eyes, simply has a terrible "fingernails-on-the-chalkboard" voice.
I love ABBA's music. The originals bring back great childhood memories, while the cast cd is almost equally as fun. The film soundtrack, though not on par with its predecessors, remains enjoyable. You may just want to skip the couple of tracks "sung" by Mr. Brosnan.
