5 out of 5 stars another sanborn hit!!   November 2, 2008
Great album, been a couple of years since Dave's last CD. This is the original David Sanborn.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent salute to some old blues tunes   October 22, 2008
I have been a fan of David's for almost 30 years and I am always very impressed by his music both live as well as on cd (or LP for that matter.) I have had the pleasure of meeting David several times and can say he is just as genuine a person as he comes across through his music. This cd is no exception. It contains some great interpretations of some old standards and also features some excellent vocal performances. It comes across as though it was recorded live in the studio but I'm sure it was not...though I guess it is possible. Anyhow, it certainly has that sound. Very acoustic and the horn section sounds fabulous. It is well worth the purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Dvaid Sanborn Does It Again   October 18, 2008
This is a different sound for him but any real David Sanborn fan will love it.

2 out of 5 stars Somthing is missing.   October 4, 2008

This album sounds like the work of a group of elderly gentlemen. It is definitely reminiscent of Hank Crawford, but it demonstrates how important the producer of a set of music is. Maybe I just need to listen to it a few more times. I would like to see Delfeayo Marsalis produce an album for this magnificent saxophonist.

5 out of 5 stars Artistic conviction: the coveted pearl!   September 29, 2008
David Sanborn has achieved along all these years the well coveted status of integral artist, absolutely untied of fashion musical tendencies. His genuine versatility, astonishing expressiveness, serene lyricism and mercurial musicality have become him a living legend.

He has always known to keep that artistic integrity and bullet-proof honesty that has allowed him to survive to these tempting fashionable waves. His playing emerges from the heart, always worried by improving himself in every new title he releases.

That's why I can tell you, that any album you get from him is an absolute warranty of endless artistic solvency.

This is a wise choice.
