My daughter Kelsey (1 year and 8 month) owns about 12 of these Baby Einstein DVD's (gift pack 1,2,3). She is not a fan. I don't think she ever watched any of those DVD in its entirety. I find that, regardless of the "age guidelines" on the Baby Einstein videos, there are a lot of overlapping and simple "scenes" with shots of plastic toys that never really facinated her. As I watch plenty of children videos nowadays, I do feel the Baby Einstein series are comparatively boring and repetitive. The whole series just appear cheap and simplistic.
Obviously every child is different and Baby Einstein seems to work great for most parents, but I would strongly suggest buying only ONE dvd at a time to see how yours react instead of buying too many in one go like I did. My daughter loves the Wiggles and will sit through...no, rather, dance through, the whole DVD. She also like Barney so I know she will watch children programs if we give her the right one.
A Great Learning Tool! July 24, 2006 My 10 month old grandson LOVES this set. It holds his attention for the entire duration. I'll be buying more!
Great! July 13, 2006 My Son really enjoys these videos. We watch them together & I tell him what everything is called, & now he yells out what they are when they come on the tv! They really keep his attention.
Love all 4! July 13, 2004 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
My daughter is now 9 1/2 months old, and has been watching these 4 DVD's for the past 4 months or so. She absolutely loves them! They keep her totally captivated. There are times that she gets so preoccupied that I can not get her to drink her bottle, but as soon as I put one of these DVDs on, she'll calm down and drink her bottle while watching the entire video. I swear by them! I am now expecting my 2nd child, and looking into buying more of them.
Fabulous baby fun! June 1, 2004 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
My 1 year old absolutely loves all of the Baby Einstein videos!! I don't know what I'd do without them. They are baby eye friendly and full of wonderful music, colours and educational information that your baby can process. I know it may look a little hokey but you have to think of it from your baby's point of view. They are simple images that their little eyes and brains can process easily without flipping back and forth constantly from image to image like kids cartoons on tv. I also love that they introduce other languages and music to my child. They say that the more a child hears other languages the easier it will be for them to learn different languages later on. My daughter is just in love with them and so am I!
